Accreditations

DNA testing methods evolve at a rapid pace. To ensure our laboratory’s top performance in all aspects of our testing services, we participate in several voluntary accreditation programs. These programs verify the reliability of our equipment, the qualifications of our laboratory staff, and the soundness of our testing methods and standard operating procedures.

DDC Laboratories, Inc. has been accredited by the Ministry of Justice as a body that may carry out parentage tests directed by the civil courts in England and Wales under section 20 of the Family Law Reform Act 1969.

	ISO/IEC 17025 Certification Certification by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) represents the highest level of accreditation in the UK. Our laboratory obtained ISO/IEC 17025 certification through the accreditation program of ACLASS Accreditation Services, a full member of the International Laboratory Accreditation Cooperation. By meeting the strict ISO/IEC 17025 standards, our laboratory has become internationally recognised for performing scientifically sound testing. View ACLASS/ISO Certificate

	AABB The Parentage Testing Accreditation program of the AABB establishes and promotes the highest standards for all aspects of parentage DNA testing. AABB accreditation is the most widely recognised certification for parentage testing laboratories. It is often required worldwide for any DNA testing performed for legal purposes, such as immigration and child support applications. Our laboratory was first accredited by AABB in 1996 and has achieved perfect, zero-deficiency ratings in its past four consecutive inspections by the organisation. View AABB Certificate

	ASCLD/LAB-International The American Society of Crime Laboratory Directors/Laboratory Accreditation Board (ASCLD/LAB) sets the most stringent standards for forensic DNA testing laboratories. Its International accreditation is bestowed upon an elite group of laboratories that meet internationally recognised standards for forensic DNA testing. Our laboratory is the only private laboratory in the world to achieve this distinguished certification. View ASCLD/LAB Certificate

	CAP The College of American Pathologists (CAP) has a rigorous accreditation program that requires laboratories to participate in proficiency testing and unannounced on-site inspections. Our laboratory is one of only a few that participate in and have perfectly passed both the proficiency testing and inspection programs. In fact, we received another perfect rating in our most recent accreditation inspection with CAP. View CAP Certificate

	CLIA The Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments (CLIA) accreditation is issued by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services and ensures that a laboratory’s results are timely, accurate, and reliable. Our laboratory has been accredited by CLIA for more than 8 years. View CLIA Certificate

	NYSDOH Certification by the New York State Department of Health (NYSDOH) authorises a laboratory to perform DNA testing on cases that originate from the state of New York. To receive certification, a laboratory must undergo intense inspection of its entire testing process. The standards set by NYSDOH are among the strictest in the field of laboratory testing. Our laboratory has achieved perfect ratings in its past four inspections by NYSDOH and is one of the few AABB-accredited labs that also possess NYSDOH certification. View NYSDOH Certificate
